Luminescent Chemical Reaction
Materials
Test Tubes Yogurt Pots
Plastic Pipette Graduated Cylinder
Luminol
Hydogen Peroxide
Glowing, Coloring Substance (eosin, fluorescein, methylene blue)
Potassium Ferricyanide
Experiment :
We measure 20mls of potassium ferricyanide. With a plastique pipette , we pour 5mls of potassium ferrycyanide in each of the 4 test tubes. We add two drops of colorant and we mix it . We pour 4 drops of hydrogen peroxide in each tube . We measure 20mls of luminol. We pour the luminol . Afterwards, we pour dops of luminol and we observe.
How does it work ?
The mixture between luminol plus hydrogen peroxide plus glowing/coloring substance do
an other colour, but, when the chemical rection is over, the production of light ends.
Conclusion
This chemical reaction its own lights as a consequence it's a primary light source.
